I’m a 48-year-old mother of three. I started my workout journey 5 years ago doing a group boot camp. From there I joined a group strength training class. I did that for four years and felt like I was in pretty good shape. I enjoyed the classes but started wanting more of a challenge. I met Maurice 3 years ago and began following ShredFit on Instagram and Facebook. I would watch the videos of his clients, men and women, working out and would think to myself, “I want to do that! I want to at least try.” After watching these videos for over a year, I finally got up the nerve to contact Maurice.

I started February 2016 doing boot camp with he and Steve. By the time I finished the first workout, I quickly realized the “good shape” I thought I was in, was not so! I had been doing the strength part of training, but not getting the conditioning. I wanted a new challenge and that’s exactly what I got. I would leave and felt wiped out the remainder of the day. Soon, one month had passed and what do you know, I was feeling stronger, my endurance improved and I actually had more energy the remainder of the day instead of fatigue.

My fitness was improving but this left me wanting even more. After doing group boot camp for 2 months, I decided I wanted to step it up even more and challenge myself further. My friend that started the boot camp with me was feeling the same way. We decided to begin doing the personal training sessions with Maurice. Even though we had been working out with him for a couple of months, we were both a bit nervous as to what this new challenge might look or feel like.

Okay...we were scared! We started the personal training April 2016. We talked with Steve about nutrition changes and started implementing them immediately. Then came the workouts! The personal training with Maurice really targets specific muscles and sculpts the body and muscles. I didn’t know I could do that pushing 49 years of age. I believed the lies that as we age, we lose muscle and strength. I didn’t want to hear that! I wanted to know I could do as much now, if not more, than when I was in my twenties. Thanks to Maurice, that’s exactly what I’m doing!

I can honestly say, at 48, I’m in the best shape of my life. Each session is different. He always changes things up. I like that. I like being pushed beyond what I think I can do and Maurice does that. He makes me believe and realize I can do more! Just when I think I’ve got nothing left, he brings it out of me. I could never do that going to a little 24/7 gym.

There’s no way I would workout on my own and push myself as I do training with Maurice. I need instruction by someone with knowledge and experience like he has. I never thought of myself as an athlete, but he explains to us how some of the moves we do are just like ones athletes do in training. He also explains why those exercises are important to athletes as well as anyone being properly trained.

Something else I should mention is I have a severe case of scoliosis. Workouts I have done in the past actually aggravated my condition. That has not been the case with this type of training. My back has improved and gotten stronger. After just a few months of the personal training, I’ve noticed a huge difference in my body.

Even though I’ve been exercising the past several years, this training has given me more muscle definition, lowered my body fat and given me a leaner look. Just a few tweaks with nutrition, consistent training and determination, has made an amazing difference in not only my appearance but also my overall sense of well-being. I feel stronger, energized and confident.

I’m a 48-year-old mother of three. I started my workout journey 5 years ago doing a group boot camp. From there I joined a group strength training class. I did that for four years and felt like I was in pretty good shape. I enjoyed the classes but started wanting more of a challenge. I met Maurice 3 years ago and began following ShredFit on Instagram and Facebook. I would watch the videos of his clients, men and women, working out and would think to myself, “I want to do that! I want to at least try.” After watching these videos for over a year, I finally got up the nerve to contact Maurice. I started February 2016 doing boot camp with he and Steve. By the time I finished the first workout, I quickly realized the “good shape” I thought I was in, was not so! I had been doing the strength part of training, but not getting the conditioning. I wanted a new challenge and that’s exactly what I got. I would leave and felt wiped out the remainder of the day. Soon, one month had passed and what do you know, I was feeling stronger, my endurance improved and I actually had more energy the remainder of the day instead of fatigue. My fitness was improving but this left me wanting even more. After doing group boot camp for 2 months, I decided I wanted to step it up even more and challenge myself further. My friend that started the boot camp with me was feeling the same way. We decided to begin doing the personal training sessions with Maurice. Even though we had been working out with him for a couple of months, we were both a bit nervous as to what this new challenge might look or feel like. Okay...we were scared! We started the personal training April 2016. We talked with Steve about nutrition changes and started implementing them immediately. Then came the workouts! The personal training with Maurice really targets specific muscles and sculpts the body and muscles. I didn’t know I could do that pushing 49 years of age. I believed the lies that as we age, we lose muscle and strength. I didn’t want to hear that! I wanted to know I could do as much now, if not more, than when I was in my twenties. Thanks to Maurice, that’s exactly what I’m doing! I can honestly say, at 48, I’m in the best shape of my life. Each session is different. He always changes things up. I like that. I like being pushed beyond what I think I can do and Maurice does that. He makes me believe and realize I can do more! Just when I think I’ve got nothing left, he brings it out of me. I could never do that going to a little 24/7 gym. There’s no way I would workout on my own and push myself as I do training with Maurice. I need instruction by someone with knowledge and experience like he has. I never thought of myself as an athlete, but he explains to us how some of the moves we do are just like ones athletes do in training. He also explains why those exercises are important to athletes as well as anyone being properly trained. Something else I should mention is I have a severe case of scoliosis. Workouts I have done in the past actually aggravated my condition. That has not been the case with this type of training. My back has improved and gotten stronger. After just a few months of the personal training, I’ve noticed a huge difference in my body. Even though I’ve been exercising the past several years, this training has given me more muscle definition, lowered my body fat and given me a leaner look. Just a few tweaks with nutrition, consistent training and determination, has made an amazing difference in not only my appearance but also my overall sense of well-being. I feel stronger, energized and confident. If you are a woman thinking you can’t do strength training because of your age or maybe you have a physical condition like me, do not let that be an excuse to sit back and do nothing. Maurice will work with you where you are. Whether you’re just beginning to take back your life by starting your fitness journey or whether you’ve been active and desire to step it up, I know you will reach your goals by training with Maurice.
